Duct Tape! and prepping for MLK Day

We had a lot of classrooms celebrating MLK day a little early today.

Some classes watched the famous speeches.

We had a class act out Rosa Parks on the bus.

We had a class have half the students with beads and half without.  Beads had special privileges, non-beads did not.  Then, halfway through the day they switched.  The teacher was able to get them to really experience injustice.  Such a cool lesson all day!

We had a class break a brown egg, and then break a white egg.  Students were able to observe that eggs are all the same on the inside.

COOL STUFF!!!!  We have such a great school community.

REMINDER THAT THERE IS NO SCHOOL 1/16 and 1/17 - SEE YOU WEDNESDAY!!

Special thanks to the Hardy/Johanson and Flan Clans for helping with the enormous task of duct taping.  In the end, I would say about 300 or more kids placed a piece of tape.  It was a pretty darn fun way to start the day.

Have a great weekend everyone!
